Fifty-eight firefighters tackle workshop blaze in Maypole Crescent, Erith

MORE than 50 firefighters tackled a workshop fire in Erith last night which damaged three cars.

Firefighters were called to a single-storey workshop on Maypole Crescent shortly after 11pm last night.

Eight fire-engines from Erith, Plumstead, Woolwich, Bexley and Forest Hill stations attended.

There were 58 firefighters at the scene at the height of the fire.

The workshop suffered damage but no one was hurt in the blaze.

Crews left the scene at 1.50am this morning and the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
