A FREE weekly running group in Bexleyheath has celebrated its first birthday.
Parkrun holds a 5km timed run for runners of all ages on Saturday mornings in Danson Park.
Organised by volunteers, those taking part do not compete with each other but can try and beat their previous times.
Members of the group celebrated the clubs first birthday at Danson Boathouse, after the usual run, on February 2.
Bexley Council’s cabinet member for leisure Councillor Don Massey regularly takes part.
He said: “We are extremely fortunate to have Parkrun in the borough.
“It’s free and suitable for all ages and abilities, making it a great opportunity for family members to exercise and have fun together.
“Its continued success is all thanks to brilliant volunteers who give up their time to make it all possible.”
The run takes place each week at 9am.
