AFTER the wintry conditions of the past few days today (January 22) should feel balmy in comparison with the temperature forecast to reach 1C.

The patchy freezing fog will be slow to clear and will then make way for a largely dry day although some showers of rain and sleet, and possibly snow, may fall later.

And the Met Office has issued weather warnings for snow and ice.

Tonight there may be some isolated sleet or snow showers although it is expected to be largely dry, with a minimum temperature of -7C.

Tomorrow (January 23) it will be mainly dry with some bright intervals and there will be widespread ice on untreated surfaces.

The maximum temperature will be 2C.
