MAJOR traffic diversions will be implemented in Bexleyheath from Monday and will last five months (January 14).

As the Bexleyheath town centre revitalisation scheme gets under way, Albion Road, The Broadway and Highland Road will all be reduced to one-way roads.

Buses travelling westbound will stop in Albion Road, near Royal Oak Road, to maintain close access to the shops in The Broadway.

The disabled car park in Arnsberg Way will be open as usual and Dial-a-ride buses will still drop off and collect near Burger King.

In what is the first stage of the new scheme traffic lights will be removed, the pedestrian crossing near Asda will be upgraded and a mini roundabout will be created at the entrance to Asda’s car park on Arnsberg Way.
