BEXLEY shoppers can get their Christmas presents while giving money to charity at a new shop that has just opened in Blackfen.
The Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice shop, on Wellington Parade, sells furniture, electrics, books, wool, bric-a-brac and Christmas gifts.
Money made will go to the hospice’s care for people near the end of their lives, as well as providing support for their families, friends and carers.
The shop was opened by Mayor of Bexley Councillor Alan Downing on Friday (December 7).
Mandy Brinkhurst, deputy retail manager of the hospice, said: “All the money we raise will be ploughed straight back into the hospice.
“Last year our shops raised £1,331,920 which is about one third of the voluntary funding needed each year to provide our specialist palliative care and support services to the people of Greenwich and Bexley.”
The hospice has 16 shops around Bexley and Greenwich.
The Blackfen shop is open Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 5pm. Sunday 10am to 4pm.
