A BEXLEY primary school has been given new equipment by a local Tesco shop.

Danson Primary School, in Danson Lane, Welling, was given a gift pack of items from the shop on Welling High Street.

In the pack were skipping ropes, notebooks and musical instruments such as recorders on Friday (November 16).

Community Champion for the scheme, Manjit Manak, said: “I’m really proud to be a part of this project, which we do every year.

"Each year, two schools and one club are nominated to receive equipment.”

Old Evennett is there, I notice. He likes to get in every photo opportunity he possibly can.

If you've never heard of him, he's the MP who recently voted against gay marriage.

He used to have a blog on here but only used it to advertise his exploits at the Commons. He not once answered any questions set by News Shopper readers and eventually slunk away into the shadows.

That's why I don't take him at all seriously. He's a typical old school Tory MP and we all know what that means. Don't we?
