POLICE are calling for help with an incident in which a granny gave chase to a bag-snatcher on a Bexley train.

The 71-year-old lady told police she left her bag on the seat next to her on a train from Bexley to Charing Cross, on October 31.

She said she was reading a newspaper, while stopped at Mottingham station, when a man snatched her handbag off the seat and sprinted off.

He was joined by another man.

She ran after them, tracked them through the ticket hall and car park, but lost sight of them as they made their way towards the Sidcup Road.

Her bag was found shortly afterwards with its cash missing.

British Transport Police have released images of two men they want to speak to in relation to the crime.

Detective Constable Agrippa said: “We have carried out several lines of enquiry, including speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage and have since identified two men we would like to speak to.

“If you know the men, or their whereabouts, then please get in touch.”

She has asked anyone with information to call 0800 40 50 40 quoting the reference B4/LSA.
