YOUNGSTERS at an Erith school are flying high after finishing a kite-building challenge.
Christ Church Primary School's design and technology club set pupils the task of choosing and making a kite, either from a kit they were given or from their own design.
After demonstrating their kite-flying skills, each pupil filled in a voting form and selected the best ones, with the results kept top secret until a special prize-giving ceremony.
Shalom Muyiwa, 9, picked up the most creatively decorated kite award, while 10-year-old Donnell Macauley was voted best flyer.
Poppy Black, 10, won the prize best kite from an original design.
Head of school Gillian Ball said: "The kites were amazing and the children had obviously really enjoyed the challenge. They have worked exceptionally hard and I am very proud of their achievements."
