Bus campaign in murdered boy’s memory

10:44am Thursday 5th June 2008

A MURDERED schoolboy's cousin is raising money to help pay for a minibus in his memory.

The manager of Eva Emilia coffee shop in Beckenham High Street, Jade Michaelides, who is Jimmy Mizen's second cousin, is offering takeaway tea and coffee for £1 to raise money for the Jimmy Bus Fund, set up to remember the 16-year-old Mizen's passion for the Scouts.

This will help buy a "Jimmy Bus" for his Scout group in Lee.

Ms Michaelides, 25, of Hayes Road, Bromley, said: "People have been very supportive.

"The Scouts are something which meant an awful lot to him."

Jimmy died in a bakery in Lee on May 10 after having his throat cut.

  • Jake Fahri, aged 19, of Milborough Crescent, Lee, will appear at the Old Bailey on August 21 charged with his murder.
