Three men escape on foot following Sidcup cash-in-transit robbery at Nationwide bank, opposite Santander

POLICE were called to a cash-in-transit robbery in Sidcup this morning (October 18).

A security team replenishing the cashpoint outside Nationwide bank, in the high street, were ambushed at 1.30am.

Three men wearing balaclavas stole the cash box as it was being loaded into the cashpoint and made off on foot in the direction of Hadlow Road.

It is not known at this stage how much cash was inside the stolen box.

No arrests have been made and the cash box is yet to be recovered.

Officers from the MET Police Flying Squad are investigating.
