BROMLEY teenagers are being invited to transform themselves into tomorrow’s judo stars at a fast track course next month.
The Fighting Chance Project is aimed at children aged 12 and over who have either been excluded from school or have low self-confidence.
Over eight weekly sessions youngsters will learn a variety of throw-downs, discipline and even some Japanese as they try to get up to yellow belt standard.
Project leader Lee Quilter, 33, said: “The first set of courses went so well that the British Judo Association asked me to put it on again.
“It was just a massive success.”
Mr Quilter says kids who are not as talented at the major sports like football really excel at judo because it is a different skill set.
Participants will receive a free Judo suit and free membership to the BJA when they join the course.
