HAVE you ever looked at the Christmas cards in the shops and wished designing the festive scene on the front was your job?

Well, if you are aged from four to 14 you could be in luck if you enter News Shopper’s electronic Christmas card competition.

The young artist who designs the one we judge to be the best will get the kudos of having it used as this year's News Shopper electronic Christmas card.

This will be emailed out to the great and good across the region to spread festive cheer.

The overall winner will also win a Kindle Fire while the two runners up will each receive an iPod Shuffle.

News Shopper editor Andy Parkes said: "News Shopper always likes to feature the achievements of youngsters and Christmas time is no exception which is why we have launched this great competition.

"Before the weather turns truly wintry we want our young artistic readers to sit down and come up with a design which sums up what Christmas means to them.

"Here in the newsroom we can't wait to see all your great designs."

HOW TO ENTER

From now until noon on November 23 we want you to get creative with glitter, paint, charcoal, felt, pencils, colouring pens - and any other materials you want - to design a great card.

And then when you have finished your design you should scan it into a computer so you can enter the competition by sending it to us by email either as a jpeg or pdf attachment.

There are three age categories (four to six years; seven to 10 years and 11 to 14 years) so make sure your email clearly has your name, age, address and contact telephone number.

Send your emails to christmascards@newsshopper.co.uk

JUDGING

All entries for the competition must be received by noon on November 23 so our judging panel can pore over your hard work and come up with a top 12 for each of the three categories.

Once we have come up with the shortlist for each category it is time for your mums, dads, grandparents, friends and neighbours to get involved.

The top 12 designs in each group will be published online and readers will be asked to vote for their favourite on a special Christmas voting phoneline.
