Dartford firefighters called to Cornwall Road substation fire
AN ELECTRICITY substation caught fire in Dartford last night (October 16) after flames from a motorbike spread to the building’s roof.
Firefighters were called to Cornwall Road, in the Temple Hill area of Dartford, at about 11.30pm to put out the blaze.
They got on the roof and stripped some of the tiles off to stop the flames from spreading and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
The fire did not spread to the rest of the building, as it is made of brick and concrete so not highly flammable.
It took the crews from Dartford fire station around 30 minutes to deal with the incident.
There are no reports of the fire leading to any problems with the electricity supply in the area.
