BEAUTY queens Miss World and Miss England delighted pupils of a Forest Hill special school with a visit and a fundraising gift.

Brent Knoll School – which caters for children with language and communication difficulties – was presented with a specially-adapted coach last week for school trips.

Glamorous fundraisers – including Miss World 2012 Wenxia Yu and Miss England 2012 Charlotte Holmes - had drummed up cash for the school as part of the Beauty with a Purpose round of the international beauty competition.

Students of the school, in Mayow Road, will be able to enjoy trips out in the bus for outdoor education activities as well as regular visits to the swimming pool and other sporting events.

Headteacher of Brent Knoll School Jon Sharpe said: "We are so grateful to all the Miss England finalists for raising so much money for the children.

"The funds raised will really help make a difference to the lives of the children.

"We will be able to take them on school trips, outdoor education visits and do more external activities which are invaluable to their development and enjoyment of learning."

Director of Miss England Angie Beasley says raising money for charity is the "real drive" behind the Miss England and Miss World competitions and the 2012 finalists worked hard for Brent Knoll School.
