Video: Charlton's Jade Ellis wins over X Factor voters with Amy Winehouse cover Love is a Losing Game

SINGLE mum Jade Ellis continues to win over X-Factor voters after a “simple, stylish, sexy” cover of Amy Winehouse’s Love is a Losing Game.

The 25-year-old, from Charlton, gave a soulful performance that left one judge calling her an “exotic flower” plucked from a “wilderness”.

The mother-of-one, who lives in a tower block with her six-year-old daughter Cayden, was transformed into a Grecian goddess in white flowing robes for Saturday’s live show (October 13).

Judge Gary Barlow said he was backing her in this competition and was a “big fan”.

He added: “Wow Jade amazing performance tonight. Simple, stylish, sexy, you look amazing.”

Nicole Sherzinger gushed: “When I look at you, you’re like this beautiful rare exotic flower that’s been plucked out of the wilderness and without shows like this we wouldn’t be able to see you and have you up here to tell your story and see you in all your glory.”

Louis Walsh called her a “very sophisticated lady” and Tulisa said the style suited her voice and that it showed she could stand up to the strongest singers.

Following the judges’ praise, Jade said: “I just really wanted to sing this Amy song like I really meant it because it means a lot to me and I think I did that.”
