A FUNERAL has been held for a Dartford man who received an MBE for his charity work.
Alan Clark, of Brent Lane, passed away on September 21 after a short illness.
The 83-year-old worked tirelessly for the community and helped to raise more than £1m for Cancer Research UK.
His father John Bernard Clark was Deputy Mayor in 1953 while his younger brother Jack was twice Mayor of Dartford.
As well as supporting his local church St Albans and the Dartford Historical and Antiquarian Society with his book-keeping skills, Mr Clark worked very hard for the 1st Dartford Scout Group.
Mr Clark's son David said: "He was much loved and the funeral proved that, there were around 100 people.
"He will be missed and he had a great life."
Mr Clark is survived by his wife Joyce, three children and seven grandchildren.
