A THAMESMEAD care home is celebrating after being nominated for two national awards.

Marlborough Court Care Centre, in Copperfield Road, is up for Best Care Team at the Great British Care Awards on November 3.

While home manager, Maggie Candy, has been selected for Care Marketeer at the 14th National Care Awards on November 23.

Mrs Candy said: "This is a great boost for clients, relatives and staff – as ever it’s all about being nominated as a team, it’s the participation that counts and all our hard work has been enjoyable."

Home ambassador, 102-year-old Annie Turnham, added: "The team here are great, and they deserve to win."

Home co-ordinator, Nins Deol, also recently received a Four Seasons Rock Company award for her 'recognition of care and kindness'.
