IT WILL be full steam ahead when a museum throws open its doors for its final steam day of the year.

Crossness Industrial Engines Museum, in Belvedere Road, Abbey Wood, will be holding the event on October 21 from 10.30am to 5pm.

Volunteers have worked hard restoring the site and Victorian pumps with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage and the Homes and Communities Agency.

Families will also get to explore how the community around Crossness lived during Victorian times.

Tickets cost £5 but children under 16 go free.
