NORTHFLEET pupils have been buzzing about bees as part of a national campaign to raise awareness about the declining insect.
Year 7 students at Northfleet School for Girls, in Hall Road, enjoyed a performance of "Honey" by the Pif Paf Bee Company.
The show took pupils on a trip into a giant beehive where they witnessed the birth of the Queen Bee, saw giant pollen and flew into the heart of a flower.
It was sponsored by The Co-operative as part of their Plan Bee campaign, which aims to help reverse the decline of the UK bee population.
The Co-operative’s membership officer for Kent, Jane Lambert, said: "This performance has given the pupils a chance to learn a little more about the humble honeybee and exactly why they are so important.
"Without them, over a third of the foods that people are used to seeing on the shelves in our stores wouldn’t be there."
