Bexley Council to consider application for 38 new homes in Sidcup

BEXLEY Council looks set to give the go ahead for the demolition of a day care centre and building of 38 new homes in Sidcup.

The council’s Planning Committee are recommended to approve the application to knock down the Carlton Training Centre and Hoblands, in Carlton Road, when they meet on Thursday (October 11).

Hoblands currently provides sheltered accommodation while the Carlton Training Centre offers day care and community facilities.

Plans outline how a replacement day care facility will be built on the same site alongside two blocks of three-and-a-half-storey flats and 14 houses.

Twenty-two car parking spaces are also planned for users of the day care centre, as is a garden.

Following the distribution of 170 letters to neighbouring properties, seven homeowners have raised objections.

These include the buildings being too tall and not in character with the area as well as increased traffic and loss of wildlife.

Objectors are wasting their time with Bexley's ruling chavs. Nineteen months to go before you have the chance to send them packing.
