Proud2 at The O2, Greenwich, allowed to reopen
3:43pm Monday 8th October 2012 in News By Mark Chandler
GREENWICH nightclub Proud2 can reopen again following a night of violence last month, a licensing sub-committee has ruled.
The club, based at The O2, was shut down for four weeks after an event in which bouncers were attacked and two people were stabbed.
Last week, Greenwich committee members decided that there was no need to extend the closure, but made a number of amendments to the club's licence.
Among the modifications are the need to keep a record of people who have been excluded from the venue along with a change to the club's designated supervisor and security staff.
Everyone entering must also be searched, including walking through a metal search arch.
Greenwich police have said that any more serious incidents at Proud2 could lead to a harsher action over the licence.
