Officers have until later this evening to charge or release him, or further time for questioning must be applied for from magistrates.
In a fresh appeal for information, officers are now appealing for a group of men seen on mopeds in Swanley Village shortly before the woman’s death to contact them.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Gavin Moss said: “We’ve had a number of calls regarding some men who were seen in the area on a moped at the time, who were reported to be shouting out to passers by.
“We would like to speak to these men, but I would stress that we don’t believe they are involved in this incident.
“However, given that they were in the area at the time they could have important information and we would urge them to make contact with us.”
Emergency services were called to Swanley Village Road at 11:18pm on Wednesday (October 3) to reports of a woman suffering from severe injuries.
