CCTV images released after phone stolen at Abbey Wood train station
12:49pm Friday 5th October 2012 in News By Kelly Smale
BRITISH Transport Police has released CCTV images of two men officers wish to speak to in connection with the theft of a mobile phone.
The incident happened at Abbey Wood rail station on August 18 between 11.45am and 12.40pm.
A 19-year-old man was sat on a bench on the platform when two men, who had been staring at him on the opposite platform, walked over via the footbridge.
They started talking to him about his phone before snatching it out of his hand.
Fearing violence if he tried to take it back, the victim told the pair to keep it and they left the station shortly afterward.
The Blackberry Bold phone is silver on the front and black on the back, with scratch marks on the back.
Police want to speak to a man in his late teens of early 20s, 5ft 8 ins tall, who was wearing blue tracksuit jacket and bottoms and black trainers with white laces.
The second man is also in his late teens or early 20s, around 5ft 11ins and was wearing jeans, a grey tracksuit top and black trainers.
Detective Constable Mark Agrippa, investigating, said "This was an intimidating incident for the victim and we are keen for anyone who may have seen the incident or who might know these men to get in touch."
Anyone with information should call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number B5/LSA of 04/10/12 or Crimestopppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

One of them has a hand bag. A cross dressing mugger is a new one.

What are the police meant to know when and where a crime is going to take place? I think you'll find that crystal balls don't really work.

We need more police patrolling the station platforms and on the trains.

My guess is that the one in the right is either dim witted or new in town - he doesn't look at all like the normal wannabe ganstas with his silly grin and rather feminine handbag.

Where are the British Transport Police when you need them?
I bet the pair didn't even have tickets to travel as the gates were probably open like they always are.
