Dartford and Gravesham motorists benefit from £6m Kent County Council road investment
DARTFORD and Gravesham motorists are benefiting from a £6 million investment by Kent County Council (KCC) in resurfacing roads and pavements.
The investment, which was agreed by KCC’s cabinet earlier in the summer, has already seen around 600 roads across the county renewed this year.
Main Road in Longfield, Valley Drive in Gravesend and Hall Road in Northfleet are among roads resurfaced in the past month.
Littlebrook Manor Way and Lawrence Hill in Dartford have also been re-sealed.
KCC cabinet member for highways Councillor Bryan Sweetland said: “With such a vast road network, we cannot maintain every street to a gold-plated standard.
“However our targeted proactive approach is helping to protect the investment we’ve made, keeping roads open and fit for use by prolonging their life, making council taxpayers’ money go further.”
A further £17 million investment in the county’s road network is planned for next year.
