A 28-YEAR-OLD driver has appeared at Woolwich Crown Court charged with killing teenage cyclist Olatunji Adeyanju in Deptford.

Olatunji, known to friends as TJ, died after being hit by a car at the junction of Deptford Church Street and Bronze Street on March 23.

The 17-year-old former deputy head boy at Addey and Stanhope School, who attended Deptford's Second Wave youth centre, died of his injuries at King's College Hospital later that evening.

Barry Normah appeared in court yesterday (Oct 2) charged with causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

He was bailed to return for a plea hearing on December 21.
