Burglars in police uniform steal jewellery and cash from home in Westmount Road, Eltham

THREE men dressed in police uniforms forced their way into a home in Westmount Road, Eltham, on Monday (Oct 1), stealing jewellery and cash.

The men, also wearing high-visibility jackets, knocked at a house and forced entry when the front door was opened by a woman.

Once inside the home they demanded valuables and assaulted the man and woman living there.

Police, called to the scene at 11.40am, say the men then fled in white Skoda estate,  in the direction of the A2 and Eltham town centre.

Both victims received superficial injuries and did not require hospital treatment.

The suspects are described as in their 30s and from 160cm to 180cm tall. Two were white and one was black.

Detectives from the Burglary Squad at Plumstead are investigating.
