Leigh Bremner's penalty-kick in the 42nd minute put Cray Wanderers through to the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Trophy with a 1-0 win at Thamesmead Town.
Cray had already beaten the 'Mead 3-1 in an FA Cup encounter the previous Saturday, at Hayes Lane, but it was a tightly-fought second encounter at Baylis Avenue where handball by a home defender gave Cray their opportunity to squeeze through.
Cup action continues for Cray this week when they are at home to Maidstone United on Tuesday night in the Kent Senior Cup (7.45pm) and then next Saturday they are home to Conference South opponents Chelmsford City in the FA Cup 3rd qualifying round.
