2:30pm Sunday 30th September 2012 in News By Alan Woods
Bexley Council is running the competition.
BEXLEY Council is looking for the borough’s unsung local heroes.
The council is running three civic award schemes to recognise people who have offered outstanding voluntary service to the community.
Split into three categories, there are individual awards for youngsters under the age of 18, for adults and one category for outstanding achievement covering nominees of all ages.
The winners will take not only the ceremonious accolade of being a local hero but will also receive a certificate signed by the Mayor of Bexley, Councillor Alan Downing.
An engraved glass prism will also be presented to the person who wins the outstanding achievement award.
Visit Bexley.gov.uk to nominate your hero or call 020 3045 3675.
