Two Bexley men charged following £50,000 Strood petrol station robbery

TWO men – from Abbey Wood and Erith – have been charged following a £50,000 cash in transit robbery at a petrol station in Strood.

Michael McCluskey, aged 25, of Brinkburn Close in Abbey Wood and a 17-year-old boy from Erith, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were both charged with conspiracy to commit robbery last night (September 25).

Both men have been remanded in custody and will appear at Dartford Magistrates Court this morning (September 26).

The arrests follow the incident at the Esso petrol station in Cuxton Road shortly before midday on September 19, where witnesses reported seeing a weapon.

On Monday (September 24), 25-year-old George Brockett from Mangold Way, Erith, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

He was also remanded to appear at Dartford Magistrates Court on Monday (October 1).
