Two in court over Genson Courtney murder in Greenwich

TWO men have appeared in court charged with the murder of Genson Courtney in Greenwich.


The 23-year-old, a stepson of Plumstead ex-gangster Dave Courtney, was found by police in Banning Street on July 3 last year in a black Volkswagen Golf and suffering from gunshot wounds.


Mr Courtney, also known as Genson Pinto, was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3.43am.


A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head.


Robert Bleach, aged 45, of Halstow Road, Greenwich, and David Pinto, aged 32, of Tyler Street, Greenwich, both appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Saturday (September 22).


Both men were remanded in custody and are due to appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow (Sept 25).
