BROMLEY police have arrested nine people today (September 20) in raids across the borough as part of Operation Hawk.

Today’s day of action has seen 90 police officers taking part in the drugs crackdown with 11 raids taking place across Orpington, Petts Wood, St Mary Cray, Mottingham and Beckenham.

In Orpington they arrested one man on suspicion of possession of cannabis and one man on suspicion of possession of a stun gun, ammunition (shot gun cartridges) and cannabis.

Cops arrested one man in Beckenham on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs, cannabis and handling stolen goods.

In St Mary Cray two men have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and one man was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply in Petts Wood. And another man was arrested in Petts Wood on suspicion of drink driving after drawing up outside as police conducted the raid.

Operation Hawk is a Met-wide initiative to target drug related crime across London.

It is being led by safer neighbourhood officers and supported by colleagues from units including Trident, the specialist drugs command, the Territorial Support Group and special constables.
