Dartford Heath fire dealt with quickly by firefighters

TWO fire engines spent 13 minutes tackling the latest fire on Dartford Heath this morning (September 20).

The fire, which is described by Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) as ‘a small fire,’ broke out on the heath at 9:31am.

It was extinguished by 9:44am and it is not yet known if the fire was started deliberately.

KFRS was called to 69 fires on the heath between May 2011 and April 2012.

They estimated that 75 per cent of these fires were started deliberately.
