Free TV licences for over 75s in Bexley
10:33am Tuesday 18th September 2012 in News By Kelly Smale
FREE TV licences are being offered to people over 75 in Bexley.
More than 1,700 free TV licences are currently in force across the borough but more older people are being encouraged to apply online or by phone.
The licence covers all the equipment in the property, which means family or carers living in the same home can also benefit.
Chief executive of Independent Age, Janet Morrison, said: "For many, television is a great source of information and fun, but for those who find it difficult to get out and about due to ill health or mobility problems, it can also be a much-needed source of company.
"Many older people live on very limited incomes, so the free television licence that is available to people aged 75 and over is a really valued concession."
