Ambulance car crashes on way to emergency in Bexleyheath Ambulance car crashes on way to emergency in Bexleyheath

A LONDON Ambulance Service fast response car was involved in an accident in Bexleyheath while on its way to an emergency last night (September 16).

It was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra at the junction of Erith Road and Mayplace Road at about 9pm.

The Vauxhall Astra then hit a set of traffic lights before coming to a stop.

Firefighters were called to the scene but did not need to cut anyone out of either of the vehicles.

Ambulance staff treated the Astra’s driver, believed to be a 21-year-old man, for minor injuries and took him to hospital.

Another fast response car and an ambulance was sent to the original patient, reported to be a woman in her 90s who had taken unwell.

She was treated and taken to hospital.

It doesn't say who was responsible for the accident but if you are the 'other driver' and you believe it to be the fault of the LAS, then please make sure you get a copy of their driving policy as it will help you greatly with your claim.

Do we need to apportion blame here.
Could just well be one of them things, an unfortunate accident - the probability/risks are quite high when you're rushing around all the time saving lives.
LAS normally seem very good drivers (& whilst on the subject, know when it is and is not an appropriate situation in which to use the sirens!) which is more than can be said for the local police who routinely find the wrong side of the road around blind bends an appropriate driving technique. I'm also a fan of the 'lets race the panda cars down the road at night' or equally 'continuous siren for ten minutes in the middle of the night' games that they take great delight in playing regularly.

Glad nobody was (seriously) injured in this incident
