Kent police today confirmed an 18-year-old woman had died after a crash in Heath Street.

Her neighbour Ashley Chaffe, 17, described the moments after the crash. He said: "I was indoors and I heard shouting. I heard a woman screaming at some children saying not to move her.

"They were out there for the whole evening. The ambulance and police were there. An air ambulance was circling round for about an hour."

Mr Chaffe, who works for a building firm, said: "There were a lot of people, about 30, in the street and it was cordoned off.

"Lots of people were crying in her front garden."

Tracey Trusler, vice principal at Apollo College, Wilmington Academy, said: “We are all deeply saddened by the news of Hannah's untimely death.
