A BATTALION of volunteer workers are needed by a charity when it moves back into its old home, refurbished in a £860,000 project.
Age Exchange, which helps older people reminisce about the past, will move into the Blackheath Village building in November, planning to run it as a community centre featuring a library and whole range of projects.
It now hopes to recruit around 100 people for a range of tasks from running the cafe and library to helping as hosts and project volunteers.
Chief executive Craig Muir: "This is an exciting new venture for people to become involved with.
"There's all sorts of different roles - literally something for everyone - and we want to tap into the enormous enthusiasm generated by the fabulous Olympic Games volunteers."
Participants will be trained for their role and various shifts will be available.
