NOT A week passes nowadays when Dartford sprinter Adam Gemili doesn’t add a new record to his ever-growing collection.

This time, the 18-year-old smashed his personal best over 200m at the National Junior League Final in Derby on Sunday (September 9).

The Blackheath and Bromley Harrier clocked a time of 20.38 seconds, beating his previous best of 20.53 seconds set two weeks previously in the Diamond League in Birmingham.

The new time makes him the fastest British runner over 200m in three years.

Adam, a former Dartford Grammar School pupil, also won the 100m race in Derby, clocking a time of 10.21 seconds.

if he ran 20.38 and the old record holder ran 20.37 - how can he be faster - surely he is slower by .01 of a second?
