Chislehurst teacher banned over sex messages to pupil
3:50pm Tuesday 11th September 2012 in News By Harry Kemble
A CHISLEHURST teacher has been banned from working in schools after sending sexual messages to a female student.
Paul King, 35, asked the girl to keep the details of their online Facebook ‘chat’ a secret.
In one message he said: "Good 2 know that u can keep a secret 4 when we get together in a few years time!"
However, the Coopers Technology College pupil became uncomfortable with the nature of the messages exchanged with Mr King.
Her mother provided the school with a transcript of the conversation which had taken place over a five day period during Easter in 2010.
The transcript showed Mr King had also revealed details of his sex life and had enquired if the girl was sexually active.
Even though Mr King admitted his conduct was unacceptable, the teacher has been banned indefinitely from teaching in an English school.
The decision was made at a professional conduct panel hearing by the Teaching Agency which Mr King did not attend.
Mr King was also barred from teaching in youth accommodation or a children’s home.
He will have to wait three years before he can attempt to overturn the decision.
