SANDBAGS were used to protect houses in Chislehurst this morning after a water main burst.

Thames Water and firefighters from Sidcup station were called to the leak in School Road at 6am.

The fire crew spent one hour protecting houses from water damage, while engineers worked on fixing the broken section of the eight-inch pipe.
