AN Orpington woman suffered “a terrifying experience” after a brick was thrown through her car windscreen from a bridge on the M25 in Dartford.

Georgina Hillier, 23, was travelling as a passenger on the anti-clockwise motorway towards the Dartford Tunnel at 1pm on Sunday (September 9), when she saw two men standing on the Watling Street bridge.

A brick was then thrown from the bridge, smashing the windscreen and leaving Ms Hillier with cuts to her wrist and glass in her eyes.

Her partner Ian Barnard, who was driving, stopped immediately and the two men left the bridge in the Greenhithe direction.

Ms Hillier was taken to Darent Valley Hospital while Mr Barnard did not sustain injuries.

Neighbourhood policing Sergeant Sarah Rivett said: “This young woman has suffered a terrifying experience which could have resulted in considerable injuries.

“She’s been lucky and the medical treatment she has received will ensure no lasting damage.

“We must prevent something like this from happening again - next time the victim may not be so lucky.”

Anyone with any information should call 101.

I hope the people responsible are caught. They must be charged with attempted murder surely? Anyone that throws a brick from a bridge is trying to kill someone. Just hope the poor woman is not to traumatised from this incident and makes a swift recovery.

People virtually never get caught for this nasty crime, and if they are caught they are predominately kid's, and no judge would or even could bang up a kid for life for simply mucking about with a few bricks, "honest officer I didn't mean to hurt anybody I was only playing an ickle game with my ickle fwends" so I think we should just deal with it, hope It's not your turn to get your head caved in, and let these precious little children continue to destroy whole families.
Or we could get the law's changed and treat these kid's as little murderers they are, but that probably won't happen, so I'm off out to buy a tank.

Yeah I totally agree. I think on this occasion though, the crime was committed by two men according to the report. Like you said though, the chances of them being caught are slim but if they are somehow found, hopefully the judge can hand down some hefty sentences. I might ask my neighbour to borrow his tank - (He actual has one!) The famous Kings Highway tank!
