FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a driver trapped in a car following a road accident.

They were called at 11.30pm on Friday night (August 31) after an Orange Citroen Saxo and motorbike collided in Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham.

The driver of the motorbike was conscious and breathing, but suffered from a head injury.

She was taken to King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill, and was found to have fractured a hip and broken her wrist.

The car driver was suffering from shock and taken to Mayday Hospital, Croydon.
