INTEREST in a Chislehurst tennis club has increased fourfold since the Olympics.

The chairman of Chislehurst Lawn Tennis Club says he takes a few calls from prospective members each week compared to every month before the games.

Memberships numbers have risen from 90 at the beginning of August to 112, an increase of around 25 per cent.

Club chairman Clive Richardson said: "I have taken nearly a dozen phone calls from potential members since Andy Murray won his gold medal.

"The Olympic legacy has helped to raise the profile of tennis and local clubs like ours are reaping the benefit."

New Beccehamian Hockey Club in Leonnard Road, Bromley South recently spoke to News Shopper about an influx of new members .
