A DOCTOR has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and possessing indecent images.
Dr Barend Delport has resigned from The Oaks surgery in Swanley and been banned from practicing elsewhere until an investigation into his fitness to practice has been completed.
Earlier this month, NHS Kent and Medway wrote to everyone at The Oaks who had been treated by Dr Delport.
The letter said: “Concerns have been raised about some care given by Dr Delport, including photographs taken by him.”
A Kent police spokesman said: “A 54-year-old man has been arrested by police and has been released on bail until 30 November whilst the investigation continues.
“Kent police are working closely with the NHS in Kent in regards to this ongoing case and are providing support where necessary.”
