Celebration as extra care housing scheme opens in Bromley Common
A CELEBRATION was held to mark the completion of a state-of-the-art housing scheme at Bromley Common.
Regency Court has been designed exclusively for older people, offering apartments and a range of facilities including a resident-run shop and a hairdressing salon.
Guests at the event included the Mayor of Bromley Councillor Michael Turner, Mayoress Mrs Janet Turner, Bromley's executive councillor for care services Robert Evans and Nick Elliot, managing director of Asprey Homes.
Cllr Evans said: "Together with Crown Meadow Court , this new scheme is an important part of achieving the council's vision to move away from a reliance on residential care and give people who need care and support greater control and independence over their lives.
"Regency Court was designed and built to the council's highest specification and means people can have their own front door with the reassurance of 24-hour care on their doorstep."
Bromley Council is working in partnership with Hanover, a leading specialist extra care housing provider who will manage the extra care housing scheme.
