The Festival which really does have something for everyone – and what’s more it looks as if it just might be the first festival of the summer to get some sunshine.

The Sound Island Festival is promoting itself as offering everything from Britpop to Hip Pop, and a good deal in between too.

The opening night on the Saturday includes such iconic names as James, Echo & the Bunnymen, Cast, Inspiral Carpets, The Farm and Space.

Then, on the Sunday, it switches and the stage is handed over to four chart-topping acts, Olly Murs, Rizzle Kicks, Cover Drive and Diana Vickers, as well as rising stars A*M*E and I Am Tich.

Concert spokesman Dion Clements said: “Across the weekend, The Sound Island Festival aims to cater for different tastes in music.

“The decade of the nineties, Madchester and Britpop is very much back in-vogue, so we opted to start this year’s festival with several of the hottest acts from the period.

“Sunday features several of the hottest acts in music today, providing a truly eclectic offering of some of the highest quality music.”

But, the festival isn’t only about established names, one of the newest faces hoping to launch a career will also feature on the Sunday.

Jessica Wright, star of hit TV show The Only Way is Essex, has announced she will use the day as a platform to launch her debut single, Dance All Night.

Snippets of the single have been leaked on the internet to positive reviews, with entertianmentwise.com saying: “It sounds like it'll fit right in with the club-pop sound-du-jour.”

The Sound Island Festival in Quex Park, Birchington-On-Sea, takes place on Saturday July 28 and Sunday July 29.
