A BLUNDER has seen residents sent double the amount of Olympic parking permits they wanted, some with printing errors meaning they won't even work.

People across Greenwich have been affected by the errors on their visitors' permits, which one angry woman branded "a total shambles".

Large numbers of people have been sent four permits instead of two, and those whose tickets say "existing CPZ" on them now need to wait for a replacement naming the specific zone they apply to.

Susannah Hickling, who lives by Greenwich Park, said she had to visit the Woolwich parking office to pick up her replacements.

The 51-year-old said: "It's a total shambles. As far as I can make out, the new permits have not gone out yet and the Olympics are just a few days away."

Despite being given a week to respond, LOCOG were unavailable for comment.

Permits should be received by Wednesday (July 25). For information call LOCOG's check it line on 0300 111 2012.
