THE mother of a Sidcup man who was killed in Nottingham is raising money for a charity that has supported her since her son’s death.
Robert Holland, 36, died after being punched by cage fighter Liam Rockley in October last year.
Since his death, Mr Holland’s mother Therese, 61, of Chester Road, has been supported by the charity Support after Murder and Manslaughter (SAMM).
With SAMM having lost £140,000 in government funding last year, Mrs Holland now wants to raise cash so they can continue providing the service.
She said: “They offer support to people in my situation - I get regular telephone calls from them and they have an online forum as well.
“Speaking with people who know what I’m going through has really helped.”
Mrs Holland has organised a raffle to be drawn on July 14.
Prizes include a SWAG bracelet and a 3-month gym pass, while high street favourites including Boots, Debenhams and Sainsbury’s have also generously donated.
