A CHARLTON teenager has denied assaulting then murdering a three-year-old boy at his home in Erith.
Appearing by video-link at the Old Bailey today, the 17-year-old – who cannot be named for legal reasons – pleaded not guilty to murdering Rhys Lawrie on January 21 last year.
He also denied two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on December 14, 2010, and January 17, and one of GBH with intent on January 21.
He was remanded in custody, where he has been since he was charged by police in February this year.
A trial, expected to last four to five weeks, has been scheduled to begin on September 26.
