BROMLEY councillors have passed a motion raising concerns over breaches of security at Bethlem Royal Hospital.
This follows a series of escapes and patients going missing from the hospital in Beckenham over recent years.
The motion stated: "This council expresses its deepest concern regarding the number of breaches of security at Bethlem Royal Hospital during the last six years and the apparent lack of urgency, determination and drive to get to the root causes of these incidents."
The hospital's Bill Yule Unit has remained closed since February when four dangerous teenagers escaped, sparking a week-long man hunt.
A spokesman for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Bethlem, said: "We continue to work closely with Bromley Council to improve security at Bethlem Royal Hospital.
"However, we do not accept the suggestion we are not determined to get to the root cause of incidents."
