Hundreds enjoy sunshine as festival fever hits Longfield

FESTIVAL fever hit Longfield on Sunday (July 1) as hundreds of family’s flocked to this year’s Longfield Festival.

With all the fun of the fair on offer, entertainment ranged from fairground rides and a magic show to a belly dancing spectacle.

While some youngsters took in the sights of Longfield Community Park on board a steam train, others chose to take conquer their fear of heights by scrambling up a climbing wall.

For those looking for a more action-packed afternoon in the sun, a giant 75-foot inflatable assault course and a surf simulator proved popular.

Providing the soundtrack for the free five-hour festival, musical acts on the main stage included Longfield Church Choir and a performance by members of the Longfield Rock School.

Longfield Parish Council clerk Tina Russell said: “The ethos of the festival is to encourage all local business’ and charities to join in on a truly team effort to provide this unique parish event.

“It’s a wonderful feeling to see families from many generations coming along to what is a true community event for all to enjoy.”
